Audrey V. is a singer/songwriter from Chicago’s south side neighborhood Chatham. She began singing at the early age of 4, and started developing an interest for song writing at age 12. Audrey’s music preference is very versatile and eclectic. Coming from a very old fashioned household, Audrey’s parents exposed her to genres of music they were more privy to, such as old-school Rhythm & Blues (“Dusties”; Motown), Jazz, Blues, and Gospel. However, having four older siblings, Audrey thoroughly enjoyed listening to 90s/early 2000s R&B, as well as Hip-Hop.
She is known to be influenced by past and current musicians such as Whitney Houston, Smokey Robinson, Denise Williams, Beyonce, Brandy, and the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Her debut single, Sunset, has been featured on multiple blog sites, including a feature from DJ Moondawg on WGCI’s blog site #HOMETURF, and also won the Hometown Heat Battle Radio Competition on Hot 105.5 in Champaign, IL. Her debut EP, Love Hangover, was released in August 2015 and is available everywhere for listening/download.
Audrey released her sophomore EP, titled “Forbidden Fruit”, in October 2018. She’s also began cultivating and hosting events under her community service campaign “Harmonize for Harmony” focusing on service projects to help aid Chicago youth
